Wayne County Programs
Dearborn Senior Services helps with the administration of several programs which fall under the auspices of Wayne County. Preapproval and registration are required for participation.
Liquid Nutrition Distribution, first Wednesday of the month at 9 a.m.
Meals on Wheels, delivered Monday through Friday. Drivers are always needed.
Emergency Food Assistance Program, second Monday of the month at 9 a.m.
Congregate Hot Meals, available weekdays at Kennedy Plaza (313) 581-1039 and Sisson Manor (313) 565-9806.Suggested donation of $3.
Additional Activities and Services
Dearborn Senior Center also hosts a variety of other activities -- including seasonal parties, teas, luncheons and speakers -- and helps provide other forms of assistance, such as free monthly screenings and health checks, free legal aid, telecare and free tax preparation help.
Senior Citizen Bus Service
The City of Dearborn partners with SMART to offer curb-to-curb service anywhere in Dearborn to residents aged 60 and over and residents of any age with a SMART disability card.
The cost is $2/person for a round trip.
