A summer of outdoor fun for children ages 5-12 begins June 19 when the Dearborn Recreation & Parks Department’s ever-popular Supervised Summer Playground Program gets underway at 12 city sites. The Supervised Summer Playground Program is a free, drop-in program with no advanced registration required. It offers such activities as arts and crafts, board games, active group games and special event days. A trained playground director organizes and supervises all activities at each site. Each week, playgrounds will have special activities based upon a different theme.

July 17-21: Super Heroes Week
June 26-30: Animal Adventure Week
July 24-28: International Week
July 5-7: Holiday Celebration Week
July 31-August 4: Out-of-this-World Science Week
July 10-14: Challenge Week August 7-11 Water Week

The Supervised Summer Playground Program is conducted Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to noon and 1-4 p.m. and Friday from 10 a.m. to noon and 1-4 p.m. at the following sites:

Crowley Penn-Vassar
Dearborn High Tot Lot Rosalie (mornings only)
Ford Woods (afternoons only) Schemansky
Levagood Summer-Stephens
Myrtle-Martha Ten Eyck
