Actors, singers and dancers, ages eight to 17, are invited to take part in this three-week program, which prepares for and culminates in a full-scale performance of the musical, “Beauty and The Beast, Jr.”

“Beauty and The Beast, Jr.” tells the story of Belle, a young woman in a provincial town, and the Beast, who is really a young prince trapped under the spell of an enchantress. If the Beast can learn to love and be loved, the curse will end and he will be transformed into his former self. Rashid Baydoun will direct this production, while Jim Walters will provide the musical direction.

Dearborn Summer Youth Theatre meets weekdays, July 10-28, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center. Performances will take place July 29 at 2 and 6 p.m. in the Michael A Guido Theater.
